Depart London Heathrow on an overnight flight to Cape Town.

Transfer to Kensington Place for a 3 night stay. In Cape Town, revisit South Africa’s recent past on a boat trip to Robben Island, enjoy the sites of Table Mountain National Park, or take a walk around the emotive District 6 Museum. (BB)

Cape Town to Franschhoek

Cape Town to Franschhoek

Drive to Le Quartier Français in Franschhoek for a 2 night stay. The Franschhoek valley is the gastronomic heart of the country, where creative chefs pair fine foods with the excellent local wines. The main street of the village offers plenty of galleries and shops to browse. Visit local wineries on the Wine Tram for an innovative tasting experience. (BB) Approximate driving time 1 hour.

Franschhoek to Hermanus

Franschhoek to Hermanus

Drive to Hermanus for a 2 night stay at The Marine. The 12 kilometres of cliff path around Hermanus and Walker Bay provide ample opportunities to spot the incredible migrating whales – the Southern Right whales gather in the Cape’s shallow waters between July and November to calve. Boat trips for closer viewings can be arranged. (BB) Approximate driving time 1 hour 15 minutes.

Drive the Garden Route

Drive the Garden Route

Drive along the Garden Route to Plettenberg Bay and spend 2 nights at Hunter's Country House. A classic road trip through mountain passes, valleys and along the dramatic Atlantic coastline. Visit ostrich farms and caves at Oudtshoorn, dine on fresh oysters at Knysna and unwind on one of Plettenberg’s blue flag beaches. Active pursuits include hiking or biking in the forests of Tsitsikamma National Park. (BB) Approximate driving time 5 hours.
