Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket / Eat, play & explore

For families looking to explore some of the best Thailand has to offer, this tour takes in the country's bustling capital, natural wilderness and picturesque beaches.

What could be more exciting than whisking the whole family away to the best Thailand has to offer? Starting in on-the-go Bangkok, rumbling tummies are satisfied with a day tour of local restaurants and street vendors – walked off only by exploring the winding streets of the city’s neighbourhoods, shrines and churches.

Travelling north, Chiang Mai, with its tranquil countryside, magnificent temples and ancient ruins, proves to be a closet adrenaline junkie. After tuk tuk tours, helicopter rides, cycling adventures, elephant greets and river rafting, little (and big) legs are going to be in need of some downtime. Phuket enters stage left with blissful beaches just begging to be lounged upon. Getting out and about a little bit can’t be helped though, especially when there’s new ecosystems and cultures to be discovered with the kayaking tours and cooking classes.

Itinerary highlights:

  • Bangkok’s hidden villages and multi-transport experience tour
  • Private traditional Thai puppet show at the Baan Silapin Artist House
  • Meet author and Thai expert Philip Cornwel-Smith
  • Bespoke full day tour of Chiang Mai’s most famous sights
  • Helicopter hiking at Doi Mae Salong
  • Phuket kayak tour around Phang Nga Bay with John Gray’s sea canoe team
  • Exclusive cooking class and Phuket old town tour with renowned Thai Chef Pui

Bangkok

Side-streets, grassroots, and legacies: this is not your usual Bangkok city experience. Take a riverside and temple walk, before meeting with Thai expert and bestselling author Philip Cornwel-Smith, for an in-depth exploration of Thai culture from the grassroots. Ask about local cuisine, as you simultaneously discover the Chinese legacy of old Bangkok and the history of the Rattanakosin Thai Kingdom, in a foodie’s tour tailored to your preferences. Settle into the multi-transport adventure, with skytrains, tuk tuks, and a canal tour of Thonburi, which leads up to the final show at the Baan Silapin Artist House. Sit back and watch how characters are sewn into every piece of this cities fabric, in a private viewing of the Traditional Hoon Lakorn Lek puppet dance that brings a once-lost art back to life.

Nestled among the greenery, you’ll find an elephant sanctuary to say hello to the world’s gentlest of giants, before drifting down river on a bamboo raft. Just as the ground feels familiar, view the city from above in a helicopter ride up to Doi Mae Salong, to sample oolong tea and hike through the tea plantations.
