Singapore and Indonesia / Eastern island hopping

When an archipelago swathed in lush rainforest and the ultimate urban playground unite, it proves that jumping between island’s isn’t just reserved for the Mediterranean.

Proud to be the melting pot of cultures that has just got bigger over the years, Singapore has the evidence to show that it’s more than just a gateway city. Spend a busy three days wandering the streets that blend restored colonial architecture with futuristic design, to introduce both newbies and long-time returners to the history of the region. It’s where the treasures of Peranakan artefacts meet vintage Vespas that whizz among the most explosive of street art scenes. Hand in hand, of course, with a true-blue Peranakan born local and modern-Malay media personality offering a personal anecdote and a foodie’s favourite tip, that will earn even the fussiest eaters a new favourite dish.

Heading into the wilds of the Bawah Reserve in Indonesia, the vibe couldn’t be more different. Here, it’s about island life and reconnecting with each other. Wake up to an orchestra of wildlife before heading out for the day to snorkel the psychedelic lagoons, sail the six islands, and test your skill at batik art. Discover your inner-marine conservationist or perhaps just soak up the sun, in a spot where perimeters are small so all fulfillments are only steps away.

Itinerary highlights:

  • Private meeting and tour of the personal collection of Alvin Yapp’s Peranakan artefacts
  • Sample and wrap your own dumplings
  • Neighbourhood tour in Katong and Joo Chiat to sample local delicacies
  • Geyland Serai walk with media personality Suhaimi Yusoff
  • Vintage Vespa sidecar tour of the city
  • Snorkelling, diving, paddle-boarding and sailing at the Bawah Reserve
  • Hands on experience to support the marine conservation whilst diving, including coral transplantation and ocean cleans
