A sense of place

Part of the Anahita Wilderness Sanctuary which borders one of the country’s largest lagoons, Four Seasons extends from the mainland over wooden bridges to its own private island (the top residences at the resort can be found here). Public areas are flanked by thatched pavilions that open into the Mauritian warmth, while at night, strategically lit pathways give the resort an ethereal atmosphere.

In pursuit of...

…the personal touches. Staying somewhere that stretches out across a large resort, it would be easy to assume service may be lukewarm, yet here it’s quite the opposite. Staff are not only attentive, but by the second day of your stay, everyone knows your name and more importantly your drink order. It’ll be waiting on your table when you arrive at dinner. A simple touch, yet it’s the reason why everyone loves it here.

"A positively private, understated affair from one of the world’s most renowned luxury brands."

Beyond family-friendly

When not busy on a tropical treasure hunt or taking part in regatta sailing, you’ll likely find children in the Lord of the Rings-inspired kids’ club Hobbit Village. A place of thatched roofs and Hobbit height furnishings where they are encouraged to express themselves in the mini amphitheatre and discover new skills and confidence as a pâtissier in the bakery. This is where they go to learn about their newfound surroundings and most importantly, themselves.

Wake up here

Each stand-alone villa is carefully balanced with warm, teak decks and outdoor showers – a steady reminder of the hotel’s wild, natural surroundings. One of the easiest ways to experience life at Anahita’s pace is staying in an Ocean Pool Villa that’s perfectly positioned for sunrise views, and where a stroll through private tropical gardens ends in the warm waters of the lagoon. Further villas are tucked among mangroves, gardens or right on the beach.

On location

Of course Four Seasons have us covered with the expected amenities (dining al fresco, an over water spa, yoga and tai chi on the beach, fishing, tennis and pools), however it is a crescent of private beach on Île aux Cerfs where guests flock to daily. A mere ten minute speedboat journey away and secluded in its own cove, Four Seasons’ exclusive beach club is where toes-in-the-sand dining perched on driftwood swings is accompanied by classic cocktails from the bar and grill.

A Carrier curation

Most are familiar with Mauritius as a beach destination, yet we are keen to introduce guests to the many ways to appreciate the island beyond its shoreline. With diverse historical roots and a thriving culture, this is an island that demands to be explored. Private tours of family-run vanilla plantations in the north mean strolls through fragrant herb gardens, while in the south, the seven-coloured earth and waterfalls of Chamarel beckon those in search of natural wonders.

When to visit Mauritius

Mauritius is a year round destination and experiences a warm subtropical climate, with relatively little seasonal variation in temperatures year round. May to October is dry with comfortable temperatures ranging between 18°C and 24°C with cooling tradewinds coming in from the southeast. Visitors during these dates will often benefit from excellent offers from the hotels. November to April is much warmer and humid with average temperatures ranging between 25°C to 33°C with an increase in rainfall. January and February tend to be the wettest months with the possibility of tropical storms although this is a rarity.
